If you love flying, Rum cakes, Tortuga rums and patties: Mr. Robert Hamaty is the individual behind it all, a man who has made Cayman a wholesale name around the world; his famous Rum cakes are sought out by every tourist visiting the Islands (rum cakes are a must souvenir for all) and a part of every social event held locally - It has become a tradition that an event is not a success until you have had the rum cake in every flavor imaginable.
Mr. Hamaty gives us an insight into his life growing up as a young man on the Island of Jamaica (before and after Independence from the British Crown) at a time when Cayman depended on Jamaica for food & medical supplies, to schooling, employment and more, to his first encounter with Caymanians at school and flight academy, thus setting a course and his destiny for the Cayman Islands. Coming to Cayman to work for our National Flag Carrier, Cayman Airways, being one of the first persons to Captain our airlines, to the now "world renowned Owner' of the Tortuga Rum Company.
