"Charting a New Course" It is one thing to succeed on a path that has been so clearly laid out for you, and it is another thing entirely to be successful on a path that you carved out for yourself, but it is uniquely rare and awe-inspiring when you can look at yourself and realize that you have done both.
Charlie Kirkconnell, Heir to the ‘Kirkconnell’ empire, was expected to follow in the footsteps of his iconic father, the late Capt. Charles Kirkconnell, (who spent much of his life in service to the Cayman Islands and it’s people), by continuing to build upon that foundation of his Legacy. Charlie, however, did that and more. He took the advice and experience bestowed upon him, converted it all and moved things to a whole new level. Mr. Kirkconnell is now building another column of the Cayman Islands economy, “Enterprise City”, and just as he did with his family’s business, he is not just directing from the top, but rolling up his sleeves and getting deep into it... elbows deep.
Always a person who has faced his own challenges head on, Charlie has made an outstanding success of it all; and in the process he has chartered a new course - a tremendous accomplishment for himself, his people and his country. For no matter what your dreams or status is in life, if you do not work hard at it, it can and will fade away.
Charlie Kirkconnell gives us insight into the lessons and values passed down to him by his father, and tells us how they have shaped and molded him and how he has used them to carve an incredible path for himself; off the beaten track and onto a brighter future for the Cayman Islands.
